HA26

Many villi (finger-like structures) reach into the lumen in this cross-section of the small intestine (HA26). The connective tissue center of each villus has a rich blood capillary network. The pancreas can be seen to the left of the duodenum. In the submucosa you can see mucus-secreting glands called Brunner’s glands.
