The vein associated with this artery has a much larger lumen, a much thinner tunica media, and a thicker tunica adventitia (HA23). These are characteristic of veins. The wall of the vein consists of one to two layers of smooth muscle deep to the endothelium and a collagenous tunica adventitia beyond.
